Middleware Developer 1537
SimoTech have a new opportunity for a skilled Middleware Developer to join our team. In this role you will support an MES standardisation project for an international pharmaceutical organisation. This role is integral to ensuring seamless communication between Level 3 (MES systems) and Level 2 (automation systems), facilitating effective data exchange and process automation.
The project offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge systems, with long-term support and continuous improvement activities expected. The ideal candidate will have experience with middleware development, exposure to automation systems, and the ability to contribute to a high-impact, long-term project.
The role offers the flexibility of remote work, with a preference for candidates based in Ireland, and the potential to grow as the team expands.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop middleware to enable Level 3 systems (MES) to communicate with Level 2 automation systems.
- Design and implement solutions to process and respond to XML values, including converting JSON to XML when required.
- Ensure seamless integration and secure data transfer between systems.
- Collaborate with the project leads to gather and understand functional requirements, translating them into development objectives.
- Provide guidance on server hosting options, including web service solutions, to optimise results.
- Support the ongoing rollout of the MES standardisation template to additional sites, ensuring continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or similar relevant field.
- Strong experience in Python, .Net Framework, SQL, and Agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of automation technologies such as MES, DCS, PLC, or OSI PI.
- Understanding of data storage and operations within automation systems.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) experience is highly beneficial.
