DeltaV FLS Automation Engineer 1471
SimoTech has a new requirement to join our existing Automation Front Line Support Team, supporting our client, a leading biopharmaceutical manufacturer, onsite at their state-of-the-art ‘factory of the future’ in Co. Louth. The multi-product biotechnology facility is one of the world’s largest using single-use bioreactor technology for batch production of biologics pharmaceuticals.
In this role you will be a key member of the 24/7, Automation FLS Team tasked with maintaining and performing preventative and corrective tasks for the automation systems, in accordance with GAMP standards. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience as a DeltaV Automation Engineer, with hands on batch programming skills, within the life sciences industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide real-time front-line support to Automation Information Systems (AIS) in accordance with GAMP standards.
- Maintain the automated systems by performing preventative and corrective maintenance tasks for automation systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot control system software and hardware issues.
- Diagnose process issues related to the control systems.
- Identify solutions to problems.
- Work on automation system changes.
- Work closely with operational staff at all levels of the client organisation.
- Maintain system documentation.
- Augment programming code for manufacturing equipment.
- Prepare and present structured, comprehensive, detailed written reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences or equivalent.
- At minimum 3 years’ experience as a DeltaV Automation Engineer, within the life sciences industries.
- Previous site experience on a Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology Batch automation project.
- Excellent diagnostics skills with the ability to think laterally.
- Strong knowledge of S-88 Batch industry standard is essential with onsite exposure to batch process preferred.
- Knowledge and familiarity with regulated industry standards, including exposure to cGMP, GAMP and 21 CFR Part 11.
- Working knowledge of other control system platforms desirable e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Unicorn etc.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Willing to work shift and in a team environment.
