Building Automation Systems Lead Engineer 1530
SimoTech has a new opportunity for a Lead Building Management System Engineer with a minimum of 5+ years’ experience to join our team supporting a biotech manufacturing facility for our multinational biopharma client based in Co. Limerick.
The Building Automation System Lead Engineer will be responsible for the BAS design which includes bioprocessing upstream and downstream and associated support areas and utilities. This facility will use single-use systems to deliver a state-of-the-art facility incorporating new technologies to support the client’s rapidly expanding monoclonal portfolio with a specific focus on operational flexibility, environmental sustainability and fast-track delivery concepts.
Key Responsibilities
- Possess a deep understanding of the Building Automation/Management Systems design, preferably in a Bio-Pharmaceutical context.
- Possess a deep technical understanding of Siemens Desigo BAS/BMS Platform.
- Provide Grey and Black Utilities Process Control Expertise.
- Experience in HVAC Control Expertise.
- Technically Lead and oversee the work and work products that the System Integrator produces. Including (but not limited to) technical standards, work processes, module templates, integration approaches to utility equipment, IT systems, and other automation-related Systems.
- Work collaboratively with the EPC Contractor and BAS System Integrator Engineers. Lead/Participate in BAS SI design reviews and application software reviews.
- Awareness of GMP Computer System Validation requirements to ensure appropriate boundaries are maintained. The BAS System will be GMP classified as No Impact.
- Abide by all safety requirements and procedures of their role.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5-10 years working experience in manufacturing engineering and operations.
- Experience with Manufacturing Grey and Black Utilities Process Control.
- Experience with Manufacturing HVAC Control.
- Experience collaborating with EPC firms and specialist contractors, including mechanical and electrical teams, to ensure seamless project execution and integration.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in BAS system design such as Siemens Desigo and/or Honeywell Trend.
- Instrumentation knowledge preferable.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, commercial awareness and teamwork abilities.
- Sufficient awareness of GMP, regulatory requirements, computer system validation, cybersecurity.
- Interacted regularly and provided formal and informal project status updates to project management.
- Good written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiar with the use of the Kneat documentation system.
