OEM Utilities Lead 1564

SimoTech has a new opportunity for an experienced OEM Utilities Lead to serve as the Technology Lead for the Utilities Equipment Automation workstream on a high-profile capital project with a leading biopharmaceutical client in Co. Dublin.
 
This project is part of a major site expansion initiative aimed at increasing production capacity and enhancing operational efficiency. The OEM Utilities Lead will play a key role in delivering automation solutions for utility systems, acting as the technical point of contact across the project lifecycle.
 
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ experience in the automation of manufacturing, packaging, or utilities systems, with proven expertise in managing OEMs, system vendors, and third-party integrators. You will be responsible for driving project execution, ensuring seamless integration of automated utility systems, and supporting commissioning and handover activities.



Key Responsibilities

  • Be the Subject Matter Expert for Utilities OEM automation on behalf of the client.
  • Collaborate closely with the OEM supplier, system integrator, and internal teams to define the scope and standards of automation deliverables, deliver critical project documentation and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Incorporate client specifications into RFPs and technical specs for VPE, supporting EPC package development.
  • Review vendor documentation to ensure compliance with overall system integration requirements as part of the client’s procurement process.
  • Integrate the utilities packages onto the PCS & BMS at client site.
  • Review utility equipment operation to ensure all functional requirements are present and correctly implemented.
  • Define and communicate client requirements, review and approve design deliverables (FS, DS, drawings, etc.), and ensure high-quality configuration and coding standards while planning, attending, and supervising FAT and SAT activities.
  • Work closely with process owners, utility team, OEM team, design team and all stakeholders in delivery of project.
  • Ensure that OEM automation meets business requirements and delivers operational functionality.
  • Manage change control and maintain high standards of documentation throughout all project phases.
  • Collaborate with CSV and QA teams to ensure compliance, while delivering key project documentation and managing handover to the operations team.
  • Work with commissioning and qualification team to stand-up facility.
  • Support start-up of facility.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences or similar.
  • Experience working Rockwell Control Logix/FT experience.
  • Experience working with BMS Siemens Desigo CC.
  • Knowledge of networking and thin client technology.
  • Working with plant utilities such as Chillers, Heat Pump, Air Compressor or similar equipment experience and clean utilities such as WFI, Water Treatment, Clean Steam Generator or similar experience.
  • Proven experience and exposure working with pharmaceutical utilities.
  • Demonstrates proven leadership ability, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and robust project experience.
