Senior Automation Commissioning Engineer

SimoTech requires an experienced Senior Automation Commissioning Engineer for a Biopharmaceutical project in Dublin. Ideally candidates should have at least 5 years’ automation experience, 2 years’ Delta V and a minimum of 3 years’ commissioning experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.

  • Report to the Lead Automation Commissioning Engineer.
  • Responsible for supporting CQV teams with Loop checking, troubleshooting devices on DeltaV, Fault finding, Commissioning and troubleshooting on DeltaV software. PID Loop tuning is an important factor in the senior commissioning engineer’s role.
  • Work with all departments at all levels of the organisation, and with contract vendors engaged in design and construction.
  • Will work closely with other project technical resources and PM’s including MES, Process, CQV, Automation, LSCC, IT, LOC & Site Infrastructure Project Managers.
  • Travel to engineering firms, equipment suppliers, system integrators for design reviews, inspections, and FAT’s may be required.
  • To ensure others work safely, and properly using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Makes technical decisions within agreed limits.
  • Ensure relevant decision makers are involved in the decision processes.
  • Identify and report any project challenges or discrepancies from normal practices or procedures to project management.
  • Recommend and implement all corrective actions as required.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 5 years’ Automation experience, 2 years’ DeltaV Experience and a minimum of 3 years Commissioning experience in in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Knowledge of S88.
  • Knowledge of GMP.
  • Software design experience Base layer to Phase.
  • Communication protocols Foundation fieldbus, Devicenet, Profibus and Modbus.
  • Mynah VIM experience.
  • Instrumentation electrical experience.
  • Change management Experience.
  • AMS, HyperV, Loop checking, Loop tuning PID tuning experience and advantage.
