Lead Electrical Engineer

SimoTech requires an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer for our Client in Dublin. The Candidate will ideally have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the biopharmaceutical industry including experience with design, construction commissioning and operation for biopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Engineer/SME for Electrical/Special Systems (GMP/Non GMP buildings), initially responsible for review of all Design deliverables including Drawings, Datasheets, specifications and Engineering Lists.
  • Assures all design & project work for Electrical Systems is completed in compliance with all Regulatory requirements including, Quality (cGLP/GMP’s), EHS, Global Engineering, design & construction directives, requirements & procedures, as well as all Local/Federal Regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible to evaluate all the drawings and technical data regarding normal power as well as emergency power required for the implementation of the project.
  • Leads Electrical SWAT Team in relation to punch list closure both pre-M/C and during the CQV execution phase.
  • Responsible for development of Bid-Packages for the procuring of Electrical equipment and Electrical related construction.
  • Lead on the development of Electrical and Special System Bid Packages.
  • Ensure compliance with all local codes and regulations, including ATEX directives.
  • Assist the CM and Engineering Manager in the resolution of discipline related technical questions, RFIs, Client request, Vendor Submittals, etc.
  • Supports CM and CQV team on troubleshooting during start-up/commissioning activities.
  • Liaise with all Project Groups (Design/CM/CQV/Automation/Process/SMEs/Ops/Maintenance/PMs) to ensure all ELECTRICAL Systems are managed appropriately for the entire Project Lifecycle.
  • Ensure system is thoroughly checked.
  • Ensure proper installation details and studies are developed.
  • Participate with CM on the inspection and approval of First in Place’s.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with ELECTRICAL design and construction projects for biopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of MV and LV power distribution, generators, UPS systems, lighting & emergency lighting, small power, voice / data, cable containment, fire alarm, earthing & bonding, lightning protection, security, hazardous areas and fire alarm.
  • Experience with complex projects and working in or around operating facilities.
  • Ability to keep work pace and meet deadlines. Good organizing and planning skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency communicating and collaborating at a variety of levels with customers, vendors, equipment suppliers and operations staff.
  • Proven success working well in a team environment with flexibility to react to changing business needs.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills. Problem solver with a focus on achievement of overall project goals.
  • Computer skills (Spreadsheets, Word Processing, Visio, Microsoft Project).
