Automation Utility Engineer

SimoTech is looking to hire an Automation Utility Engineer to join a project on a client site in Dublin. Automation Utility Systems Engineer is required to support facilities systems and between AIT and Engineering. This role can be a staff or contractor position, whichever is preferable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting Building Automation System, Water Treatment plan and utility automation systems.
  • Working with SCADA and OEM environments.
  • Provide SME knowledge to Engineering on SCADA and PLC systems.
  • Provide troubleshooting and hands-on support to resolve technical issues.
  • Provide SME knowledge ProfiBus, Modbus, Fieldbus technologies.
  • Scheduling and coordinating work to tight deadlines.
  • Ensuring that equipment works to its specification.
  • Creating and carrying out test procedures.
  • Liaising with installation/project engineers.
  • Supervising engineering, vendors and technical staff.
  • Writing reports and documentation.
  • Providing technical support.
  • Ensuring safe working conditions.
  • Training maintenance and operative staff where appropriate.
  • Attend Software Factory Acceptance and Site Acceptance Testing.
  • Maintaining and developing change control systems.
  • At least 3 years’ experience providing building automation system solutions and support to manufacturing organisations in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry or similar is required.
  • Process knowledge of HVAC and site utility systems.
  • Experience during project delivery and operations support.
  • Experience with Rockwell and Siemens Building Automation Platforms and experience with utility vendor packaged automation equipment including Rockwell and Siemens PLC/SCADA platforms is preferred.
  • The candidate will have demonstrated proficiency communicating and collaborating at a variety of levels, coupled with excellent organization and planning skills.
  • Experience in delivering and supporting Siemens, Allen Bradley, PLC/SCADA system.
  • Knowledge of ProfiBus, Modbus, Fieldbus technologies.
  • Experience in control applications in black and other utilities.
  • Ability to keep work pace and meet deadlines. Good organising and planning skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills. Problem solver with a focus on the achievement of overall project goals.
  • Proven success working well in a team environment with flexibility to react to changing business needs.
  • Working knowledge of GAMP software development lifecycle, ANSI/ISA-S88 industry standards.
  • Experience of the following: Windows Server 2012, 2016 Windows Win 7 and 10, MS Active Directory.
  • Thorough knowledge of Pharmaceutical Industry Regulations (cGMP/cGLP, OSHA, EPA/EQB) required.
  • Experience of Validated and Non Validated Control System Documentation practices.
  • Understanding of Environmental Controls in Validated Environments.
  • Understanding of Utility Process Control, an understanding of Level, Flow and Pressure Controls in an operational environment.
