SimoTech is looking for an experienced Accountant for a full-time role based in its Cork office. This is an excellent career opportunity for a motivated and ambitious person who enjoys working autonomously whilst being part of an extended team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Processing and recording of incoming and outgoing invoices.
  • Verification and checking of invoices, timesheets and purchase orders.
  • Processing, recording and monitoring of purchase orders and dealing with queries on same.
  • Recording of incoming invoices and outgoing payments on accounts software.
  • Processing and verification of expenses claims and receipts.
  • Bank account and credit card account reconciliation and receipt recording.
  • Management financial reports and other financial reports as may be required.
  • Payroll, including returns to Revenue.
  • VAT recording and VAT returns to Revenue.
  • Payment processing including SEPA bulk payments.
  • Tracking and resolving late payments.
  • Supporting other departments with financial projections, proposal costings etc.
  • Third Level Qualification in relevant discipline (e.g. Business, Finance).
  • ACCA / ACA / CIMA qualified or part qualified is preferable.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Must be proficient in use of standard office software (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint).
  • Good experience with accounts/bookkeeping, payroll software.
  • Experience of payroll administration and good understanding of PAYE system.
  • Experience of VAT recording and returns.
  • Good general administration experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Energetic, self-motivated and proactive with the ability to think on the go and move projects forward with minimal instruction and oversight.
  • Thorough knowledge of Pharmaceutical Industry Regulations (cGMP/cGLP, OSHA, EPA/EQB) required. Strong working knowledge of 21 CFR 11 compliance requirements as they relate to Lab IT systems.
  • Experience of Engineering or Technology consultancy financial environment (e.g. Purchase/Sales Order based invoicing, fixed fee/time and expenses invoicing, SAP/Managed Services invoicing).
